Who is Rad?
Some call me Rad. Most call me Jason. Call me whatever you want – just don’t call me late for dinner.
As a senior UX designer, I enjoy turning complex, tangled systems into experiences that make people say, “Oh, that was easy.” I’ve spent most of my UX career at Amazon working on Alexa AI, Device Sales, Seller Central, and Amazon Web Services.
For the last 3 years, I have spent most of my time running a full-time woodworking business, which turns out to be great UX training. Both disciplines require asking the right questions, respecting constraints, prototyping early, and accepting that if you ignore the foundation, the whole thing wobbles. Measure twice, ship once.
I’m a hands-on designer who likes mentoring, whiteboarding, and partnering closely with product and engineering teams to make complicated things feel simple (but not simplistic). My sweet spot is messy, high-impact problems where systems, humans, and business goals all collide.
Good UX should feel obvious, fast, and quietly doing a lot of work behind the scenes — kind of like good joinery on a piece of furniture.
I’m currently looking to bring that mix of craft, systems thinking, and collaboration back to a team solving meaningful problems.
